Michael Critelli

Michael J. Critelli is the former Executive Chairman of Pitney Bowes Inc., a $6.3 billion mailstream solutions company. During the 34 years since he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin and was awarded a J.D., cum laude at Harvard Law School, he has had a distinguished career as a company, industry, and community leader.

As Executive Chairman, Mr. Critelli lead the Pitney Bowes' focus on the emerging opportunities in the external environment, including postal reform and transformation in the U.S. and globally, and market opportunities arising from the company's innovation and leadership in areas such as health care, government services and corporate social responsibility. He also concentrates on building upon the company's already strong positions in corporate governance.

During his 29-year tenure with Pitney Bowes, Mr. Critelli served in various capacities at the company, most recently as Chief Executive Officer, marking an 11 year period of unprecedented transformation, and firmly establishing the company's leadership in global mailstream markets.

Mr. Critelli was instrumental in leading the $900 billion mailing industry's efforts to articulate and promote its interests. He co-chaired the Mailing Industry Task force with the Deputy Postmaster General from 2001 to 2006, and is also the Chairman of the Mailing Industry CEO Council that has provided industry advocacy on postal reform and transformation, as well as leadership on other key industry issues. He has also been a driver of technological innovation in the mailing industry, and has been awarded nine U.S. patents for mailing technology.

His leadership also extends to health care and healthy communities, diversity, corporate governance and ethics, talent development and transportation. Mr. Critelli's passion and expertise in these areas have led to both personal and company awards and recognition. Mr. Critelli co-led two sessions of the 2008 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, first as part of a joint initiative with the World Health Organization focused on health and workforce productivity; and second on a panel focused on the prevention of the spread of chronic diseases. He recently chaired a Commission appointed by Governor Rell charged with examining and redesigning the Connecticut Department of Transportation, its mission, direction, business practices and organizational structure. Mr. Critelli currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for three non-profit organizations, the Dossia Founders Group, an organization funding an independent non-profit institute to develop a web-based framework for private, personal and portable health records, Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Center Advisory Board, a center of excellence for the study and treatment of Alzheimer's disease, and the Connecticut Regional Institute for the 21st Century, a public policy think tank that promotes sustainable economic development and Connecticut's competitive position in the global economy. In addition, Mr. Critelli has just completed nearly five years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Urban League. He previously served on the Connecticut Transportation Strategy Board where he co-chaired the Board's Funding and Finance Working Group. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Catalyst, which promotes the advancement of women in the workplace, the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut Science Center which supports scientific education and endeavors in the State and is a Board member of Partnership for Prevention which drives the public and private sectors toward maximizing the return on investments in prevention to improve the health of all Americans. He previously served on the Connecticut Transportation Strategy Board where he co-chaired the Board's Funding and Finance Working Group.

Mr. Critelli is also a member of the Board of Directors of Eaton Corporation, a leader in providing products, services, and technologies for many transportation-related industries, including automotive, truck, and airspace customers. Mr. Critelli was recently elected to the Wyeth Board of Directors, a global leader in pharmaceuticals, consumer health care products, and animal health care products.

David Goldsmith
Vice President & Executive Director
Dossia Consortium

David Goldsmith serves as Vice President and Executive Director of the Dossia Consortium, a not-for-profit association that brings together major employers to advance the use of a secure, patient-centric health platform to deliver actionable applications for consumer/patients and health care providers to improve the safety, quality and efficiency of health care.

David previously served at Alliance Health Networks as Vice President, Product Partnerships & Development, where he was responsible for developing strategic partnerships, joint ventures and industry alliances designed to advance the company's consumer engagement initiatives across more than 50 web and mobile social networks. Goldsmith spearheaded key partnerships with Mayo Clinic, Joslin Diabetes Center, Consumer Reports, and Tufts University School of Medicine, among others.

Prior to Alliance Health Networks, David founded New Philanthropy Media, and previously served in senior leadership roles with digital agencies including Bridgeline Digital and Interactive Applications Group. David currently serves as an advisor to the SXSW Health Accelerator, as well as Medicine X, Stanford University School of Medicine's annual conference on the future of medicine and health care.

David holds a B.A. in Political Ecology from Huxley College for Environmental Studies at Western Washington University.

Kelvin A. Baggett, M.D.
SVP, Clinical Operations & Chief Clinical Officer
Tenet Healthcare Corporation

Dr. Kelvin A. Baggett, senior vice president and chief medical officer of Tenet Healthcare Corporation, is responsible for leading Tenet's efforts to improve the quality and safety of care provided throughout Tenet's hospital system, while also helping to manage costs and build more cohesive relationships between the system and the medical staff across the country.

Before joining Tenet in 2009, Dr. Baggett was the vice president, clinical strategy and chief operating officer of HCA's Clinical Services Group. As chief operating officer of the Clinical Services Group, he was responsible for developing and executing strategies to improve quality, safety and clinical performance throughout HCA's inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Baggett completed his training in internal medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine. He completed advanced training as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar in the department of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and as a general internal medicine fellow at the Duke University School of Medicine. He earned his bachelor's of science degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a doctor of medicine degree from the East Carolina University School of Medicine, a master of public health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a master of business administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Becky Bailey
Senior Director, Global Benefits and Wellness
Applied Materials

Becky is the Senior Director, Global Benefits & Wellness, with Applied Materials.

Prior to her current role, Becky served in similar roles for Countrywide Financial, Universal Studios, and Atlantic Richfield.

Becky holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an option in Human Resources from California State University, Los Angeles.

Karl Dalal
Director, Health & Protection Benefits
BP America

Karl Dalal is BP America's Director for U.S. Health and Protection Benefits. He leads a team responsible for all aspects of the design, delivery and administration of BP's health and welfare benefit programs offered to more than 80,000 employees and retirees.

Prior to joining BP in January 2010, Mr. Dalal was the Director of Healthcare, Insurance and HR Programs for Ford Motor Company. Karl started work in 1986 as a financial analyst at Ford. He has 24 years experience in healthcare, benefits, HR, finance and accounting. He presently serves on the Board of Dossia, the Aetna Client Advisory Group as well as the National Business Group on Health.

Mr. Dalal received a MS in Management from Purdue University and an executive-MBA from Duke University.

Brian Devore
Director of Strategy and Healthcare Ecosystem
Intel Corporation

Brian DeVore is the Director of Strategy and Healthcare Ecosystem and provides strategic guidance and oversees the national and local partnership efforts of Intel necessary to provide innovative healthcare to its employees. He works with senior executives in the healthcare and technology industries as well as business and government leaders to drive care, payment, data and organizational changes necessary to deliver improved quality at a repeatedly lower cost.

Mr. DeVore currently serves in advisory and board positions on the Oregon Health Policy Board, The Pacific Business Group on Health, The Oregon Coalition of Healthcare Purchasers and Dossia. He is a former alternate member of the American Health Information Community (AHIC) and was an advisor to the National Governor's Association State Alliance for eHealth, The Texas e-Health Alliance and the Oregon Health Information Technology Oversight Council (HITOC).

Prior to joining Intel, Brian formed and led Kryptiq Corporation's Government Affairs/Initiatives as well as an original principle with Myhealthbank, an early entry into the consumer driven health space. Brian holds a degree from Evangel University and has additional executive training from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

Chris McSwain
Vice President, U.S. Benefits

Chris McSwain joined Walmart Stores, Inc., in November of 2010 and currently serves as Vice President, U.S. Benefits. Chris was recently named Chairman of the Board for the Integrated Benefits Institute - an organization dedicated to providing employers and their supplier partners with resources for demonstrating the business value of health. In December 2007 Chris joined Whirlpool Corporation as Sr. Director, Global Benefits. While at Whirlpool, Chris and his team completed a large number of strategic initiatives which drove innovation across each area of the Global Benefits team. Recently, Chris has published three key documents including: A manuscript focused on Human Capital, Personal Value and the Health, Wealth, Performance Portfolio; a DVD developed in conjunction with the Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI) entitled Winning Together: Turning Vendors Into Partners To Improve Workforce Health And Productivity; and on the development of an innovative "Culture of Health Change Acceleration" model. In January 2008, Chris was one of 20 business leaders selected by Business Insurance magazine for inclusion on the publication's 2008 People to Watch list.

Previously, Chris served as Director, Compensation and Benefits for SCANA Corporation. His team led SCANA through a total health and productivity journey including developing the Live Well Life Counts brand that reinforced the company's mission of improving the health and productivity of the SCANA workforce and their families.

Completed initiatives at SCANA include creation of an employee resource center with on-site Pharmacy with robot, wellness and EAP coaches. Other accomplishments include value-based benefit designs, data aggregator, vendor integration, and Mobile Medical Unit. In 2005 Chris was named Benefits Manager of the Year by Business Insurance Magazine.

Chris received a BS in Chemistry from the College of Charleston. In addition, Chris earned an MS in Chemistry from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kendell Sherrer
Vice President, Global Benefits

Kendell Sherrer is Vice President, Global Benefits for Cardinal Health, Inc. headquartered in Dublin, Ohio. Cardinal Health is a Fortune 20 company that improves the cost-effectiveness of healthcare. As the business behind healthcare, Cardinal Health helps pharmacies, hospitals and ambulatory care sites focus on patient care while reducing costs, improving efficiency and quality, and increasing profitability. Cardinal Health employs more than 36,000 people worldwide. Prior to joining Cardinal Health in 2000, Kendell spent time in various benefits management roles at Halliburton Company, PepsiCo, and AutoNation. Kendell holds a BS in Accounting from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and a JD from The University of Oklahoma.

Patrick Soon-Shiong, M.D.
Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Soon-Shiong is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Abraxis Health. He was recently appointed Executive Director of the UCLA Wireless Health Institute, and is Professor of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics Professor of Bioengineering at UCLA.

Dr. Soon-Shiong holds a degree in Medicine from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and a Master of Science from the University of British Columbia. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Soon-Shiong performed the world's first encapsulated islet transplant in a diabetic patient. He developed the first FDA approved protein nanoparticle delivery technology for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and this drug is being developed for lung, melanoma, gastric and pancreatic cancer. He is a co-inventor of over 50 issued U.S. patents, has published more than 100 scientific papers, and founder of 2 publicly traded pharmaceutical companies, American Pharma Partners and Abraxis Bioscience.

Dr. Soon-Shiong's research has been recognized by national and international awards such as the Association for Academic Surgery Award for Research, the American College of Surgeons Schering Scholar, the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons Research Award, the Peter Kiewit Distinguished Membership in Medicine Award, and the International J.W. Hyatt Award for Service to Mankind. Dr. Soon-Shiong received the 2006 Gilda Club Award for the advancement of cancer medicine and is a recipient of a 2007 Ellis Island Medal of Honor as well as the St. Mary Medical Center Life Achievement Award in 2007 and the St. John's Health Center Caritas Award in 2007.

In 2008 he received the Medical Visionary Award from the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for his work in pancreatic cancer.

Dr. Soon-Shiong currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Institute of Transplantation as well as the Technology Council for the new Center for Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence at Northwestern University which is part of the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) five-year initiative for nanotechnology in cancer research. He also serves on two advisory boards for the RAND Corporation, the RAND Center for Asia Pacific Policy and the RAND Health Board of Advisors. Dr. Soon-Shiong recently joined the Board of Trustees for the Saint John's Health Center in Los Angeles, California and the Advisory Board of the California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA. He also recently joined the Advisory Board for the Institute for Technology Advancement (ITA) at UCLA School of Engineering & Applied Science, as well as the Board of Councilors of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.

In 2009 he was appointed to the President's Council at RAND Corporation, Chairman of the Steering Committee of Life Sciences of the X-Prize Foundation and Founding Board member to Dossia Foundation.
